NHA seeks creative solutions to establish a national ecosystem as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
The National Health Authority (NHA), the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s implementing body, has issued a request for expression of a desire to develop creative solutions that would help with the development of a national digital health ecosystem. The NHA stated in a statement on Thursday that this cooperative approach will assist accelerate the development, help speed up development, and only help speed up development but also create digital public assets available to the public and/or private sector.
It stated that interested companies will supply these solutions to public and private institutions as a free service.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) intends to develop a unified online service for connectivity in the healthcare technology ecosystem. The mission is envisioned as a collection of “digital building bricks.” According to the statement, each central piece is viewed as a “digital public good” that can be used by any enterprise in the digital health ecosystem & provides critical characteristics that allow the ABDM vision.
NHA CEO R S Sharma commented on the request for expressions of interest (EoI): “In the healthcare technology ecosystem, the ABDM aims to promote open as well as interoperable standards. This initiative would not only help India achieve its universal health coverage targets faster, but it would also have a rippling effect on the global health ecosystem.”
ABDM’s registries currently have over 800 participants, allowing for health exchanging data via the Health Information Exchange & Consent Manager (HIE-CM).
By releasing their EoI, interested developers & parties can contribute significantly to the development of the national healthcare technology ecosystem.
As per the statement, the NHA plans to build a digital platform akin to the Unified Payment Interfaces and UPI enabling compatibility between different digital services to help different stakeholders communicate by utilizing divergent technologies.
Potential candidates are also motivated to contribute by developing open-source software solutions that may be used by a variety of organizations.
