Flipkart has acquired ANS Commerce in order to improve its e-commerce infrastructure through technology advancements.
Flipkart, the e-commerce behemoth, announced the purchase of ANS Commerce, a full-stack e-commerce enabler that help enterprises sell online, on Tuesday. Flipkart is continuing its measures to strengthen the Indian e-commerce ecosystem by investing in the skills of technological enablers that will answer the needs of a country’s rapidly increasing and evolving digital market place.
Following the acquisition, ANS will continue to function as a separate company under its current leadership team.
“Our efforts are focused on making sure that businesses, including MSMEs & smaller brands, can take advantage of the opportunities that e-commerce presents in order to promote sufficient value as well as deeper feelings for Indian customers who really are quickly adopting digital commerce,” said Ravi Iyer, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at Flipkart.
“Our relationship with ANS Commerce began last year whilst they were a member of Flipkart’s technology company accelerator programme, Flipkart Leap,” Iyer continued, “so we are pleased to welcome the team here to Flipkart Group.”

Subject to customary agreement, the Flipkart and ANS agreement is scheduled to close with in second quarter of 2022.

Since its founding in 2017, ANS has developed a full-stack offering for brands across the value chain, including brand store technology, performance marketing technology and services, marketplace connections, and warehousing and facilities management. It works with over 100 customers in a variety of industries, including enterprise, mid-market, and direct-to-consumer brands, to help them migrate to digital commerce.
D2C is a significant emphasis area for Flipkart because the segment is quickly developing in the Indian market as marketers seek direct contact with their customers.
