Turkey receives 136,600+ trademark applications in the first three quarters of 2021
The official figures of The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office released on October 20 2021, according to which The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TurkPatent) received 136,619 trademark applications in the first three quarters of 2021, which is in approx. 9 months TurkPatent received a huge numbers of trademark application.
The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office is an intellectual property organization with a special financial plan being attached to the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. Established on June 24, 1994 in Ankara as an independent legitimate entity, it is responsible under special legal executive arrangements with the target of supporting the technological development in Turkey and of building up and protecting of industrial property rights, just as furnishing people in general with the overall data on industrial property rights.
The number of domestic trademark applications was also high according to the TurkPatent data which was shown, of total more than 125,000 of the application was domestic trademark application. In the time period of month January to September the number of trademark application increases approx. 17.3% year on year. The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office received 11,848 patent applications during the same period, down 6.2% year-on-year.
A total of 3,222 utility models and 40,225 design applications were made between January and September – 98.5% of utility models and 88.3% of the design applications were domestic, according to the data.
In the Last year 2020, TurkPatent received 170,590 trademarks, 18,705 patents, 3,627 utility models, and 47,606 design applications according to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office official figures and data.
